Steel Ingot is produced from High-Grade Iron Ore combined with Crushed Coal (Coal Powder) in the Smelting Furnace, per the official v1.0.6 patch notes (the pre-v1.0.6 Iron Ore + Coal recipe is obsolete). A single community source reports a 2:1 ratio — 2x High-Grade Iron Ore + 1x Crushed Coal; this ratio is community-reported (single source) and awaits a second independent confirmation. Steel feeds Steel Beams and the steel-derived heavy frames required by the Heavy Frame Order contract.
