Oil Guide: From Crude Oil to Fuel

Guidepending

Last confirmed against v1.1.0 — 2026-09-07

The complete v1.1.0 oil chain in one walkthrough: finding a reserve, extracting Crude Oil, hauling it home, and refining it into Fuel, Bitumen, and Oil Processor products.

Quick answer

To get oil in v1.1.0: start from the Desert property, scan the ground with Radar Mode, clear the reserve with the Jackhammer, install an Oil Pipe Head, run free-placement pipes down to the oil bed, then haul Crude Oil back with a Tanker Truck. Prices, unlock requirements, and exact ratios are still marked pending until community verification catches up.

Find and extract crude oil

Crude Oil is not a normal ore vein. It sits underground as a reserve: you scan for oil density with Radar Mode, clear the spot with the Jackhammer, then extract it through an Oil Pipe Head instead of mining it by hand.

The Oil Pipe Head is the surface extraction unit — the part many players will search for as the oil pump.

  • Buy the Desert property — its lot holds the underground oil reserve, and the v1.1.0 property screen shows whether a reserve is present and how much is left.
  • Switch the Ore Detector to Radar Mode and scan the ground for oil density. Radar Mode is a new mode on the existing detector, working like a simple underground sonar.
  • Clear the marked spot with the Jackhammer to reach the oil layer. The Jackhammer is a pre-existing tool, not new in this update. Community-verified
  • Install an Oil Pipe Head on the cleared reserve, then connect pipes. Full details on the Crude Oil entry.

Move crude oil with pipes and tanker trucks

Oil uses a fluid-based workflow, not belts. Place the Oil Pipe Head at the surface, run free-placement pipes down to the reserve, connect a Tanker Truck, and store the Crude Oil in an Oil Tank back at the factory.

  • Pipes are placed segment by segment — free placement, not a fixed grid. You extend the run piece by piece from the surface unit down to the reserve.
  • A Tanker Truck collects Crude Oil at the well and hauls it back to the factory Oil Tank. Once connected, the motor starts and the oil slowly transfers into the tanker.
  • Community-reported Players report aiming at the pipe connector to extend a run, and routing pipes along the well wall.
  • Community-verified Tanker loading and unloading feels slow; plan round trips instead of waiting at the well.
  • Community-reported The Oil Tank reportedly has no pipe output port, so oil leaves storage by truck, not by pipe.

Pipe Head price, pipe segment cost, Tanker capacity, and Oil Tank capacity are all [PENDING] — no community measurements exist yet, and we do not estimate them.

Unlock petrochemical production

Petrochemical production is gated by the petrochemical license. Once unlocked, the Oil Refinery separates Crude Oil into Fuel and Bitumen; exact input ratios and output amounts are still pending verification.

Note: Not to be confused with the Refinery, the older ore-refining machine — this update adds a separate Oil Refinery for Crude Oil.

  • Input: Crude Oil × [PENDING]
  • Output ratio (Fuel / Bitumen): [PENDING]

Turn oil products into usable materials

Fuel and Bitumen feed the next stage of the chain. The Oil Processor turns oil-based materials into Asphalt Mix, Lubricant, Rubber Sheet, and Tire; the full output list is still being verified before we add more entries.

Some oil products connect back into older production lines, per the official notes — the confirmed link list is still being verified, so it is not rendered yet.

Petrochemical license and progression

The petrochemical license gates the oil-processing chain. v1.1.0 also raises the level cap from 10 to 12 and adds the Off-Site Mining Training upgrade tree, but the license unlock level and price are [PENDING] until community verification.

  • New machines and licenses unlock through the new level range (levels 11–12); the exact unlock list is [PENDING].
  • Off-Site Mining Training improves Miner crate capacity, efficiency, and oil extraction ability.
  • A new factory size upgrade adds one more expansion step, more building space, and 4 new storage output sockets.
  • Off-Site Contracts were rebalanced around higher-volume end-game resource flow; existing contract entries on this site keep their current status until re-verified.

FAQ

How do I get oil in Ore Factory Squad v1.1.0?

Start from the Desert property, scan the ground with the Ore Detector's Radar Mode, clear the reserve with the Jackhammer, install an Oil Pipe Head, run free-placement pipes down to the oil bed, and haul Crude Oil back with a Tanker Truck.

What does the petrochemical license unlock?

It unlocks oil processing: the Oil Refinery separates Crude Oil into Fuel and Bitumen, and the Oil Processor turns oil-based materials into further products. The unlock level and price are pending verification.

Do oil products feed existing production lines?

Some oil products connect back into older production lines, per the official v1.1.0 patch notes. The confirmed link list is still being verified, so we do not list connections yet.

How much does the Desert property cost?

The Desert price is not yet community-verified, so we do not estimate it. The field stays marked pending until players confirm it in v1.1.0.
